Waste Water Treatment Technician Jobs

Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skill.

Experience in water treatment, water hygiene, environmental health and safety, and/or secondary disinfection is preferred, but not required.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sales with a proven successful track record.

Knowledgeable in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Prior plumbing and maintenance experience is a must

Take ownership for maintenance of the water treatment plant equipment and process lines including plumbing, pumps, valves and filtration equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and fix them in a timely manner.

Operation and monitoring of mobile water treatment system(s)

Collect incoming water samples, record volumes and receiver information

Perform bench testing of incoming water to determine appropriate water treatment process

Previous experience with water or wastewater treatment processes, pumps, valves and chemical treatment systems.

Previous experience with collection, submission, and evaluation of water samples for laboratory analysis.

2+ years of experience in water and wastewater systems maintenance and repair

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used in water and wastewater systems maintenance and repair

Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to working with water and wastewater systems

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders such as engineers and customers

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to diagnose and solve problems with water distribution and wastewater collection systems

· Highly organized with excellent time management skills

· Technical skills and experience in the areas of mechanical, plumbing and electrical an asset

· Complete all required follow up requirements as needed

· Must have water treatment experience

· Professional written/verbal communication and people skills

· Computer skills and familiarity with commonly used software programs (Outlook, Excel)

Experience working in Arctic conditions.

Experience in driving light vehicles is an asset.

Preparing equipment, parts, and components for service/maintenance.

Cleaning equipment, parts, and components.

Performing maintenance related activities & follow procedures as requested by the supervisor.

Performing routine and daily inspections of applicable equipment and work area.

Follow, promote and encourage good housekeeping and safe work habits.

Adhere to the Technical system Procedures and Instructions.

Make accurate additions of chemicals and make adjustments to the processes as required.

Set up, adjust and calibrate lab equipment including but not limited to, Ph & Conductivity meters, Hydrometers, Phos meters, etc.

Requires working with standardized procedures with the ability to prioritize own work and use judgement to refer unusual problems to supervisor.

Participate in team meetings, audits and corrective action investigations.
