Ensure that complete and appropriate underwriting requirements are completed while at the same time practicing effective expense management.

Actively participate in the development, implementation, and management of New Business initiatives.

Exceptional priority management with ability to work effectively under deadlines, balance published service times with an appropriate customer.

Expert knowledge of insurance contract law and state legislative requirements as they relate to the underwriting and issue of insurance contracts.

You obsess about customers, listen, engage, and act for their benefit.

Minimum 15 years underwriting experience and ability to provide a high level of underwriting expertise.

Good technical skills, including experience with Salesforce, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Improve technical underwriting skills, brevity in presentation of credit submissions, and risk rating accuracy.

8+ years credit underwriting experience and prior credit authority.

Demonstrated experience in developing and motivating underwriting personnel.

Solid written/verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Experience with analytics and credit scoring.

Solid time management & organizational skills

Ability to apply technical knowledge to complex case works

Demonstrates ability to work productively in high pressure environment and effectively and proactively manage challenging situations

Liaises with other RGA departments to share knowledge and assist with client projects, as necessary

College diploma or University degree or equivalent working experience

7-10 years of experience in direct or reinsurance underwriting, working in High Net Worth and large case underwriting

Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.

Supports change management of varying scope and type; tasks typically focused on execution and sustainment activities.

3 – 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience.

Strong verbal & written communication skills.

Great analytical and problem-solving skills.

Understands the business/group strategy, develops, and maintains knowledge of end-to-end processes.
