Overview Truck Mechanics are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy-duty trucks and other related vehicles. They inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components. They also perform preventive maintenance and make necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicles. Detailed Job Description Truck Mechanics are responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components of heavy-duty trucks and other related vehicles. They must be able to identify and diagnose problems and determine the best course of action to repair the vehicle. They must be able to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. They must be able to use a variety of tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance. They must be able to perform preventive maintenance and make necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicles. Job Skill Requirements
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
• Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment to perform repairs and maintenance
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and make necessary adjustments and repairs
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• ASE certification or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in truck maintenance and repair
Job Experience
• Previous experience as a truck mechanic or related field
• Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components
• Experience in performing preventive maintenance and making necessary adjustments and repairs
