Transportation Engineering Data Analyst Jobs

5+ years of Project Management experience as well as 8+ years of Transportation Engineering

Experience with preliminary and detailed design of arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety)

Project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget

Participation in the management of the Infrastructure Group in Toronto West Office

Manage staff productivity and utilization

Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience

Shown knowledge of the data management lifecycle, including experience with data quality and metadata management.

Experience in conducting business analysis to capture requirements from non-technical stakeholders.

Develop capabilities to identify areas of opportunity and improve business processes, data architecture and reporting efficiency.

Build requirements documentation, UML diagrams including but not limited to sequence and data flow diagrams.

Hands on experience in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Information Systems

Superb analytical and conceptual thinking skills; to not only to manipulate but also derive relevant interpretations from data.

Provide project management, engineering and technical expertise,

Monitor and maintain overall resource management, including staffing, to meet project and budget targets/demands.

Manage operational responsibilities of the team’s Project Managers / Team Leads,

Minimum of 7 - 10 years of related Canadian experience with a minimum 5 year’s experience in an urban transportation setting,

Minimum of 10 years of transportation engineering experience with at least 4 of those in a project management role

Strong project management experience on various transportation projects, ideally within Alberta

Work with GHD production team on resource management, schedules and budgets in the preparation of proposals

Preparate and negotiate contract documents, liaise with internal Contract Management / Legal team

Strong leadership and communication skills

Support on GHD’s Alberta business development and market strategies, engage in partnering discussions and preparation of proposals and technical pursuits

Prepare and lead presentations on transportation data to internal and external stakeholder groups, management, and council.

Demonstrated skills working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Develop and update as required a data collection strategy for the City related to all transportation users

Analyze the collection of data related to all transportation users (vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians) and vet incoming third-party data for accuracy

Evaluate interventions using data, performing before and after studies as appropriate (e.g. speed limit reduction effectiveness)

Provide data analysis summaries for annual collision reports
