Supervisor Security Specialist Jobs in British Columbia

3 years security supervision experience preferred

Monitors security risks to the campus and patrons and reports potential problems to the Director of Facilities

Monitors security cameras, alarm and fire systems

Supervises and coordinates schedules for all Security Officers

Ensures operation of all security equipment to include preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions

Writes correspondence including logs and reports; maintains documentation pertaining to security and emergency training and accident and incident reports

1 to 2 years experience in personnel management

Qualifications To Become An Assistant Supervisor

Support regular officer's afterhours including Paladin Operations Centre and Scheduling with responsibilities delegated to them.

Assists in developing, implementing, maintaining and evaluating an overall security program, including Post Orders, Policy & Procedure Manuals, and OH&S programs.

Compile accurate statistics on a monthly basis.

Conducts threat, risk assessments and provide recommendations for security and safety improvements.

Conduct investigations when incidents and situations occur as required.

Perform other duties as required and/or requested.

1 -2 years experience in security. Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.

Excellent English, oral and written skills

Experience in supporting and working with a diverse group of people. Demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Microsoft office and Tracktik.

Investigating incidents promptly and accurately. Submitting incident reports in a timely manner to the Client Services Manager and the client.

Uses a collective team-based approach to promote mutual problem solving within the department, and proactively anticipates and resolves issues.

Investigates, resolves and reports disturbances utilizing non-violent interventions. Documents and reports incidents in accordance with established Protection Services procedures.

Utilizes and operates photo identification, access control, CCTV and other security systems programs.

Provides pre/post flight safety inspections of heliports following appropriate departmental procedures.

Maintains a daily log of events and prepares detailed reports.

Communicates with the on-call leadership after business hours regarding emergent issues, as required.

Uses a collective team-based approach to promote mutual problem solving within the department, and proactively anticipates and resolves issues.

Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.

Have knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and BC Employment Standards.

Perform other duties as assigned by manager or client services manager.
