Sterile Processing Worker Jobs

Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology

Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, wraps, sterilizes and store instruments/equipment and supplies for an assigned area.

Picks surgical supplies/instruments for surgical cases as per established procedures and/or per physician's request.

Maintains cleanliness of sterilizers and sterile core and instrument room; cleans equipment room and shelving containing sterile and clean supplies.

Distributes instrument and/or equipment in accordance to established procedures.

Transports specimens to the laboratory and patients from the OR, as required; transports patient belongs to designated areas, as needed.

If no qualified applicants, will consider applicants who are willing to obtain certification within 12 months

Formal education in anatomy, medical terminology, microbiology, infection control preferred

Previous experience working in the setting preferred

Experience operating SPD related equipment

Training and experience in the reprocessing of endoscopes using the Mediavator system, Steris system familiarity an asset

Knowledge of Universal Precautions and Infection Control measures

Adhere to all requirements of the Quality Management System.

Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform Management of unsafe working conditions.

Understanding and working knowledge of Medical Device Quality Systems and Regulatory Requirements

Identifying and resolving processing/system issues using engineering essentials and other related problem-solving tools and techniques, while meeting organizational and regulatory requirements.

5+ years of relevant work experience

Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

General Labor or Food Industry experience
