Senior Fire Protection Engineer Jobs in Alberta

10 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Collaborate with Operations, Emergency Response, and Regulatory and Law to manage the PFAS RMOCs for the applicable US jurisdictions

Fire Protection/Suppression certification is an asset (e.g., a NFPA Associate, Professional or Expert Level Certification)

Implement a central depository for fire system designs and annual fire suppression testing reports

Air travel within Canada and US, occasional local travel driving company vehicle or rental vehicle. May require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Overnight business or field trips may be required

Perform any other duties and responsibilities as designated by the Head Technical Safety Support

Attend review meetings and provide technical review comments for EWRs, PERs, and Project Proposals

Perform field verification to ensure closure of moderate & major incidents, insurance survey, 2nd party audits, and special fire protection surveys

Provide daily advice and consultation to proponent on fire protection and safety engineering matters

Support fire protection department in witnessing and analyzing the testing and commissioning of fire protection systems

Experience in a similar field.

Support T&D Electrical regulatory compliance in the protection area as per requirement of governing regulatory agencies.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline

Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Support our reliability improvement plan and processes related to protection system and reinforce a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Execute protection coordination and system studies to solve potential mis-coordination in the electrical system and ensure protection operation selectivity.

You will work out of our Base Plant site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
