Solid experience utilizing Civil 3D.

Technical experience in the planning and design of transit or freight railway infrastructure.

Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems

Analyzethe Requirement and developmentto ensure the implementation

At least 10 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions including 5 years in Railway projects preferred

Knowledge of Signalling, Telecommunication, Power Supply and Overhead Catenary Systems preferred

Knowledge of the rail environment and engineering practices

Ability to lead and manage system engineering topics

Ø Power distribution design knowledge for rail deployment is an asset.

Ø Well developed verbal skills to interact effectively and professionally in a variety of forums

Ø Well developed writing skills to prepare effective reports, documents, etc. in a clear and concise format.

Ø 15+ years related work experience in the rail industry specifically in hardware signaling design

Ø Good interpersonal and technical writing skills

Ø Demonstrating a high degree of initiative, and resourcefulness in solving problems.

Minimum 4 years’ demonstrated experience in Rail & Transit Infrastructure requirements management

Familiarity with requirements management tools, data analysis, script writing etc.

Serve as key personnel in the requirement management and requirements database work and maintenance for area of responsibility for the project.

Understanding of requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS or Perforce Helix

Responsibility for Requirements Traceability Matrix using requirements tools such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements Systems New Generations (DOORS NG)

Coordinating with multiple disciplines, including rail systems, and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete assigned tasks

Good experience on railway site management

Engineer degree level or equivalent education or experiences

Ensure the deliverables are prepared in in accordance with the project execution requirements: customer, installation subcontractor, local regulation, etc.

Support the Project Installation Manager, Site Operations Manager, Field Operation Manager during the preparation of the Field quality dossier for Handover

P. Eng certification or in progress

Certification on Autocad and/or other Design tool

Responsibilities will be commensurate with level of experience and area of expertise.

Participate in risk identification and management, monitor, and mitigate risks.

Support the Technical Services Team Engineering Managers and Senior Engineering Managers in the execution of their duties.

Strong written and verbal communicator with ability to communicate requirements and outcomes as they pertain to technical subjects.

Skills with project engineering software suites including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and others are considered an asset.

Experience with cross disciplinary engineering design coordination is an asset.

This role is also suitable for an experienced subject matter in Civil Engineering

Experience with the design and modeling of rail corridors and roadways with InRoads/OpenRoads and/or Civil 3D

Demonstrated experience with roads, utilities, and other civil works in the context of a rail and transit project

Strong familiarity with rail and road design philosophies and geometric design principles, Ontario design standards, client specific standards and requirements

Experience in design delivery within both conventional and design-build project models are considered assets.

Interest or experience with new design tools and technologies

Regular contacts are with all levels of employees and management staff in the Rail & Transit department.;

CBTC Integration experience and knowledge is required;

Leading development of and performance specifications and trackwork design to meet project requirements;

Supporting quality control/quality assurance and safety certification processes;

Reviewing technical documents for tender; working cooperatively with counterparts in other departments in order to meet client requirements;

LRT Systems experience is required;

Support Incident Management Planning and Investigation, as well as, Emergency and Crisis management process development and review;

Bachelor's degree or advanced education in a relevant discipline from an accredited university;

Demonstrated experience in leading SA/RAMS for a large organization, in the rail industry;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Project Management and/or Project Engineering experience, including client-consultant interaction;

Planning, organizing and working with technical groups in the delivery of project deliverable requirements

Providing support to other Hatch regions in the development and delivery of project requirements

8 years+ of rail industry experience;

Knowledge of North American rail design standards and best practices;

Interfacing and communicating with the Client on project specific tasks

Experience in applying various Requirements Management tools for the successful delivery of projects (e.g. DOORS)

Accountable for the development of the Requirements Management Approach and associated plans/processes

Accountable for management of the requirements baseline through the life of the project and the system, including change control

Responsible for capturing the client needs through the development of User, Stakeholder, Operational, System and Subsystem requirements.

Accountable for the capture of verification and validation information, ensuring progressive demonstration of requirements linked to tests and results.
