Security Controls Engineer Jobs in Ontario

Provide recommendations and guidance on security best practices and solutions to stakeholders and management.

Analyze security risks and vulnerabilities in the organization's IT systems and networks

A degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $50 – $60/hr

ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Long term

Successful candidate will require the following skills/experience:

Develop and document new PLC control systems from concept to qualification

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or equivalent work experience

Intermediate knowledge in robot programming (Fanuc)

Intermediate knowledge of PLC programming (Allen Bradley)

Experience with Allen Bradley Factory Talk

Create supporting calculations ensuring that designs meet specification requirements including functional, safety, legal compliance, and manufacturing capabilities.

Demonstrated knowledge of general electrical skills.

Prepare software requirement documents as required.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Controls Engineer in a mobile/heavy equipment (or related) manufacturing environment.

Design experience with SolidWorks (with formal training preferred); experience with AutoCad desirable.

Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking skills and must be capable of thinking outside of the box.

Electrical Engineering experience in the field of automation/industrial machinery. High Speed Packaging Machinery experience is an asset.

BSc. or similar Technical Education in the field of Electrical Engineering

Working knowledge of current safety standards, including Control Reliable design & PSR Legislation in Ontario.

5 – 8 years’ experience in the field of electrical automation/industrial machinery. Experience in Packaging Machinery is an asset.

Preparing machines for the debugging phase and FAT phase

Power the machines up after wiring

Interface and manage installation contractors during construction

Visual Basic, SQL, MS ACCESS Database programming skills a plus

Database programming skills a plus

3-6+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting

Design and troubleshoot both software and hardware necessary for control systems utilizing PLCs for integration of manufacturing systems.

Design, diagnose, and troubleshoot network infrastructures - Ethernet, DeviceNet, AS-i, Profibus etc.

Analyze, fix, and test vulnerabilities in Ubuntu packages

Keep track of vulnerabilities in Ubuntu releases as they are discovered, researched and fixed (using internal software tools)

Audit source code for vulnerabilities

You have a thorough understanding of the common categories of security vulnerabilities and techniques for fixing them

You are skilled in one or more of C, Python, go, Rust, Java, Ruby or PHP

You have excellent logic, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills

Experience with building automation systems, energy management systems, or similar systems

Participate in Change Management, Problem Management, Configuration Management, and Inventory Management activities as necessary.

IoT Security certifications and / or experience

Provide analysis and guidance regarding threats, vulnerabilities, data privacy and security incidents as it relates to the IoT landscape.

Participate in, or lead testing, evaluation, upgrade and implementation of new and existing security applications to address emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

Experience deploying, securing and implementing IoT technologies such as sensors, edge computing, cloud platforms, and communication protocols.

Project management within individual environment

5+ years of experience in electrical controls (designing, troubleshooting, etc.).

5+ years of experience in Siemens and/or Allen Bradley

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred) OR equivalent years of experience without degree (10+years)

Design, engineer, and procure assembly equipment for future programs

Help maintain and re-engineer current assembly equipment
