3-5 years related Mechanical Engineering experience

Engineer and/or designer experience with metal fabrication, and mechanical equipment

Knowledge of machines, tools; including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance

-Participate in creating 3D Standard Operating Instructions (SoI) for assembly and Disassembly procedures

-During specification and preliminary design phases:

-Participate to the product design reviews when required.

-During detailed design phase and before Serial Go:

-Participate to validation of prototypes if any.

-Request tooling when needed and write tooling specifications.

- Prioritizing/time management skill, ability to cope with multiple tasks

- Project management using advanced project planning

Assist manufacturing (production) to improve process tooling or needs as requested by Engineering Manager.

- Requires extensive knowledge of general machining practices

Responsible for N.C programming for all CNC/NC equipment, robot, programming, design and co-ordinate all tooling and gauging.

- Continually ensure that CNC and processing records are updated

Complete all required APQP-related activities, ECR processes, PRP (8D), and all other Quality Management System requirements as needed

Ability to work independently and draw from experience in all aspect of the job assigned

Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety

Review tooling designs/gauges to ensure they are built to meet customer and Co-Ex-Tec requirements/standards, and will run to the quoted standard

Review facilities and equipment requirements with relevant internal and external customers/suppliers

Must be proficient in hands-on process troubleshooting.

Working knowledge with CAD (preferably Solid Works or Draft Sight)

Must have working knowledge of QS9000 / IATF:16949 and ISO14001 procedures

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings, conduct training and to present information in an advisory capacity.

Knowledge of robotic controls, programming, stamping, assembly, CNC equipment, material handling, inspection/gauging, and/or metal finishing equipment, considered an asset.

Design and procure tooling, fixtures, gauging etc. in order to meet manufacturing process requirements and objectives

Develop and maintain documentation and actions to support divisional requirements such as:

Provide statistical analysis of the date to support the reports.

Generation and implementation of change controls and engineering notices (ECO).

Develop statistically based sampling plans for in-process and final testing and inspections, and validations.

Troubleshooting equipment/processes that do not perform as intended during validation runs.

Recommend process/quality improvements as part of validation runs. Evaluate, investigate and document non-conformances incidents and/or protocol deviations.

Complete assigned Non-Conformance and CAPA investigations and prepare investigation reports.

Involved with projects from inception through to completion

Lead various CapEx, Continuous Improvement and Process Improvement projects

Live local to North York

Flexible with regards to travelling

Basic level in project management and agile methods

Specify, design, and introduce equipment to meet requirements of new products and/or new processing methods.

5 years of experience in manufacturing, especially in electronics production

Electrical design, control systems, and PLC programming skills are assets

Intermediate level team facilitation, teaching, coaching, and presentation skills

Experience with NX, Process Simulation, TeamCenter, SAP
