Job Title:Quality Control Laboratory Technician

·Thoroughly test all samples from production within required timelines.

·Perform chemical and Micro analyses of products and accurately documenting all results.

·Carefully and accurately interpreting all data and test results.

Communicate results and provide feedback on inspections to management.

Import data to tabulate results and highlight deviances to standards and process capabilities in Excel.

Basic understanding of Coordinate Measuring methods, and knowledge of hand use measuring equipment.

Use of Microsoft Office, with basic working knowledge of Excel.

Working knowledge of measurement instruments, i.e. calipers, micrometers.

Use of CMM or Vision system inspection experience is desired.

Computer skills required (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) with proficiency in data management required.

Demonstrated excellent time management skills and organizational skills required.

Proactively lead and facilitate prioritized quality activities, using quality improvement and project management principles and methodologies

Offers educational sessions related to quality and patient safety to lab staff and other lab professionals

Coordinates staff training in quality and risk management, handling of hazardous materials, WHMIS, and Guidelines for Transportation of Dangerous Goods

Completion of, or commitment to complete, a Quality Management System Program.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality, R&D or Production environment in the pharmaceutical, food or water industries

Experience with Analytical Chemistry and/or Microbiology equipment, tools, and data analysis

Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making abilities

Knowledge of Laboratory systems is an asset (eg. SAP, Biovia, Empower, ETQ Symphony, Labware LIMS)

Process Excellence and/or Validation experience

Direct supervision of up to 15 Analytical laboratory scientists and reviewers.

Routine data entry, data trending, or evaluation/assessment to support QC.

Understand and work under the Health Canada and FDA GMP requirements for sterile pharmaceuticals.

Previous laboratory experience is an asset; full training will be provided.

Good communication skills (in English) and ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
