They also work with local government officials, community groups, and other stakeholders to ensure that plans are implemented effectively. Principal Planner Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to urban planning.
• Knowledge of urban planning principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
