Overview Principal Planners are responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans and policies that guide the long-term growth and development of a city, county, or region. They analyze data, research trends, and develop plans that address the needs of the community. They also work with local government officials, community groups, and other stakeholders to ensure that plans are implemented effectively. Principal Planner Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or a related field preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to urban planning.
• Knowledge of urban planning principles and practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
