4th Class Power Engineering Certificate

Coordinates with the Manager, Facilities Management Services to prioritise tasks for Journeypersons and other FMS Resources on shift;

Reports all emergency repairs and safety issues to the Manager, Facilities Management Services;

Responds to work orders as they arise utilizing a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS);

Education bursaries for Employee Children

5 years experience as a Tradesperson directly related to the operation and maintenance of building systems;

Demonstrated capabilities re: accountability, judgement, decision-making, problem solving, etc.;

A minimum of 3 years directly related experience

It would be an asset to have a Computer Science Certificate and working knowledge of Reliable and Delta Controls

$35/hr for 4th Class Power Engineer

$37/hr for 3rd Class Power Engineer

Have a valid Refrigeration Operators or 4th Class Power Engineer ticket.

Hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Fourth Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate from the NS Department of Labour and Advanced Education

Five years’ experience preferred, after obtaining Fourth Class certificate in operation and maintenance of a high pressure steam plant.

Travel to other sites may be required. Must have access to reliable transport

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Long assignment, part-time (20%) position; 15 hours bi-weekly

Assignment is approximately 12 months in length

Work closely with skilled trades and production team members when troubleshooting and correcting upset conditions

Major Duties And Responsibilities Include

Ensuring that all aspects of steam plant operation are performed safely and meet applicable standards

Operate and maintain two hog-fired, high pressure steam boilers

Maintain boiler feedwater treatment program

Operate and maintain all steam plant auxiliary equipment

Refrigeration experience is an asset;

Variable availability depending on the shifts offered;

80-84 hours Bi-weekly (8 or 12 hr shifts)

Opportunity to have flexible hours allowing for 3 weekend days.

Responsible to work mainly in the production facility, trouble shooting, performing preventative maintenance work and maintenance repairs.

Look after the refrigeration system and boilers.

· Power engineering and control room experience are also major assets.

· Minimum two years of supervisory experience with the ability to provide leadership and direction to others.

· Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to motivate, lead and build effective relationships.

Collaborate with store leadership to bring Community strategy, through the pillars of community foundations, and guest experience to life.

1 year of cumulative experience in customer service or engagement, grassroots marketing, brand engagement or community building

Education: High school diploma/GED/equivalent, or above

Attend, support, and/or host local and regional Community events.
