Experience providing policy advice or interpretation to clients and senior management;

University degree from a recognized institution in public administration, political science, finance, commerce, business administration, or experience in a related field.

Exhaustive and recent experience in policy development, research, and analysis;

Experience preparing briefing notes, official correspondence, or reports;

Experience in conducting consultation with key stakeholders (e.g., other service areas or branches and/or external stakeholders);

Experience managing multiple projects and activities concurrently with tight deadlines.

Prepare notes based on research through progress reports, checklists, tables or Executive summaries

Assist in the tracking, monitoring and documentation of issues related to specific policies and various business documents

Valid Reliability level security clearance

Bilingual - English and French (Intermediate level)

Duration: ASAP until January 26, 2024

Level of Effort: 37.5 hours/week

Exceptional business writing, clinical document writing, and editorial abilities.

Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complicated and technical information into easily understandable content and recommendations.

Demonstrates effective negotiation/mediation skills and/or the application of effective conflict negotiation/resolution skills to build consensus among groups.

Strong communication, organization, note-taking, and presentation skills.

Reviews capital planning projects related to: servicing, storm water systems, road access, density requirements, noise, etc.

Effective analytical and critical systems thinking skills.

Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the public, staff and external agencies, providing courteous and effective support.

Ability to communicate effectively with strong written, listening, and presentation skills that promote understanding and clarity in a respectful manner.

Oriented self-starter with strong motivational skills

Assist the Manager in the strategy development, planning, and execution of Food Banks Canada’s government relations and advocacy work.

Support the Manager and the National Policy Advisory Committee (NPAC) in their work to lead the development of long-term policy solutions.

Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience.

Experience working in a team environment, preferably in a political setting.

Experience working in federal politics is an asset.

Help monitor the success of Food Banks Canada’s government relations and advocacy activities.

·Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science or administration or a relevant combination of degrees and experience

·5+ years relevant work experience in economics, agricultural markets, or related field

·Strong written and oral communication skills

·Strong statistical and analytical skills

·Knowledge of DFO’s and other Canadian dairy organizations’ policies and regulations is an asset

8.Participate in the development and analysis of new programs and requirements for dairy industry sustainability.
