Job Knowledge Pipefitters must have a thorough knowledge of the tools and materials used in pipefitting, as well as the ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams. They must also be familiar with the various types of piping systems, including water, gas, and drainage systems. Job Experience Previous experience in pipefitting is preferred, although some employers may accept applicants with no experience. Completion of a pipefitting apprenticeship program or certification from a trade or technical school may also be required. Job Responsibilities
