Technical experience in basic molecular biology, and basic immunology techniques such as ELISA and flow cytometry

Experience in basic animal care and simple animal surgeries is essential

Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be an asset

Experience working with BSL2 pathogens and infection models

Experience with intravital imaging systems is desirable

Strong knowledge and experience in multiple communicable diseases and nursing principles and practices

Ability to plan, organize and manage a case load

Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, organization and flexibility

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Sound ethical decision making skills

Current registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority

Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline

1 to 3 years of supervisory experience

Direct and demonstrable research experience in the subject matter of the research project is essential

Extract microbial DNA from human and mouse stool

Prepare samples for metabolomic and microbial analysis as well as perform animal handling, husbandry, genotyping and mouse pain assessment
