Strong communication and presentation skills

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Actively champion and promote the exhibit and other Science North programs

Assist with community focused marketing initiatives such as distribuiting posters, taking photos and videos, and supporting photo shoots

Experience in program management, preferably in a not-for-profit context.

Knowledge of best practices for cohort management.

Manage a cohort of 1200 participants in the Flip The Script (FTS) program (600 members per cohort).

Ensure that cohort members are meeting program requirements and goals.

Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or education.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Successful completion of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent as determined by the Ontario Ministry of Education;

Practical knowledge of use of the multi-channel radio dispatch systems, including but not limited to CAD and NICHE RMS;

Knowledge of radio language, 9000 codes, geographical zones, and phonetic alphabet;

Extensive knowledge of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo Street and road networks.

Able to acquire knowledge of police computer networks and systems (e.g., CAD and Niche RMS), legislation, policies, and procedures;

Able to summarize events for direct data entry of emergency calls;

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Develops communications/knowledge translation plans, articles, announcements, researcher profiles and web page content.

Creates fundraising and awareness materials for the public, donor relations.

Creates a social media strategy, making social media contacts and scheduling posts.

Stays abreast of major communications trends, issues, and technologies.

Performs other duties as required.
