Provides skill-enhancement through role modelling and general instruction.

Lived experience of addiction and recovery and active involvement in a 12-Step program for addiction required.

University degree or College diploma in one of the social sciences or a health-related discipline, or the equivalent in work experience.

Completion of course-work for certification as an Addiction Counsellor is required.

Screening, assessment, and intake of individuals referred to the program for treatment, to determine their suitability for our program.

Frequently and regularly assesses client's progress.

Well-developed time management, organization, and teamwork skills

Appropriate use of case management/IT systems i.e., CaMS

Sensitivity to issues/barriers that people with disabilities experience

Provide services to individuals with disabilities and are challenged by employment barriers

Deliver program accommodating individual learning styles and abilities

Conduct transferable skills analysis and labour market research

Pursue the development or acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge of the higher education environment.

Collaborate with the LCI Education information technology team and teaching teams in assessing needs and implementing educational technologies.

Offer or promote pedagogical development to teaching staff.

Support program managers in the process of selecting new teachers.

University degree at the undergraduate or graduate level in education, pedagogy, educational technology, or a related field.

Advanced knowledge of Canada’s First Nation, Inuit, and/or Metis cultures, customs and heritages and demonstrated experience performing cultural ceremonies as appropriate;

Minimum of a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or culturally equivalent training;

Demonstrated experience delivering workshops or presentations to groups of 25 to 100 people;

Demonstrated training and experience conducting suicide risk assessment and mental health crisis intervention;

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including the ability to complete presentations;

Demonstrated computer skills; including the proficient use of an electronic client record system;
