Parks Maintenance Attendant Jobs

Degree or Diploma in Parks and Recreation Management, Business Administration, Horticulture or a related field; or combination of experience and education.

Strong knowledge of park management principles, including maintenance practices, programming, and customer service standards.

Demonstrated experience in budget management, resource allocation, and financial analysis.

Professional certifications in parks and recreation management or related fields are an asset.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices in park management.

The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

1 year of related experience operating industrial equipment.

Current and valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.

Strong mechanical aptitude and basic construction/maintenance skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Experience with process equipment in a manufacturing setting is an asset

Food industry or high speed packaging experience is an asset

Boiler, refrigeration and air handling systems experience is an asset

Technical skills in modern building maintenance and repair techniques.

Related training, knowledge and understanding in arena refrigeration process, cemeteries, parks, pools, forestry an asset

Experience operating equipment; trucks, tractors with attachments, and front end loaders.

Experience operating power tools and hand tools.

Perform general maintenance and repairs of arenas, libraries, museums, cemeteries, community centres and other municipal administration facilities

Follow generally accepted maintenance and repair standards, administrative policies and practices and the County’s program of preventative maintenance

Knowledge of maintenance safety and security policies and procedures

Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize work load

Perform general maintenance and repairs of arenas, libraries, museums, cemeteries, community centres and other municipal administration facilities

Follow generally accepted maintenance and repair standards, administrative policies and practices and the County’s program of preventative maintenance

Provide assistance in the moving, relocation and set up of administrative office equipment and supplies as required by other departments

Assist with the operations of the cemeteries, ensuring compliance with municipal and/or provincial policies, procedures, by-laws

Involved in all aspects of building maintenance requirements for all new construction, renovations, or updates to current systems

2-4 years' experience in a maintenance or general labour position

Formal maintenance training or trade certification an asset

Knowledge of the materials, equipment, tools, and techniques of standard building trades

Knowledge of applicable safety precaution
