An OTR Tire Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of tires on commercial vehicles. They must be knowledgeable in the use of specialized tools and equipment, and must be able to inspect and diagnose tire problems. OTR Tire Technicians must also be able to work safely and efficiently in all weather conditions. To become an OTR Tire Technician, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must also have experience working with tires and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the job. Additionally, you must be able to pass a background check and drug test. Skills required for an OTR Tire Technician include mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and communication. You must also be able to lift heavy objects, work in tight spaces, and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Knowledge required for an OTR Tire Technician includes the ability to identify and diagnose tire problems, knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the job, and knowledge of safety protocols. Responsibilities of an OTR Tire Technician include inspecting and repairing tires, performing preventative maintenance, and providing customer service.
