Ohs Training Instructor Jobs

•Assist HSE Manager in safety audits as required by policy and legislative requirements

•HSE and/or Oil and Gas experience considered an asset (2 to 4 years considered an asset)

•Strong work ethic with excellent communication skills,

•Review PPE inventory requirements to meet safety standards

•Coordinate HSE training adhering to company and client requirements

•Collaborate with HSE Manager to measure relevant safety statistics, review policies and procedures, and on safety initiatives

Presentation, facilitation and management skills

Act in a support role for field managers and new hire employees

Able to travel to provide training at remote terminals. Up to 40% travel

Minimum of 4 years’ experience working within the Mechanical Car department or has relevant related experience

High school or equivalent with post-secondary education preferred

Expert knowledge of the air brake systems and in the area of repairing all types of Rail cars

Experience in other aspects of avalanche search and rescue

Motivated to expand their skill set to advanced AvSAR

Formal instructional training (for example, Instructional Skills Workshop and/or BC Provincial Instructor Diploma Program)

University degree in a related field (for example, Bachelor of Education)

A minimum of an 80-hour first aid course, preferably with a wilderness orientation

Available for instructor training in April 2024 (or winter 2024-25 in Quebec)

Develop all site-specific requirements, such as Emergency Response Plans, Project Safety Management Plans, Site Specific Orientations, JSAs etc for all projects.

Track all staff training and qualifications; consult the management team for required training and compliance plans.

Any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by upper management.

Direct experience in maintaining and auditing safety management systems.

KSA’S (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES, and PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES):

Maintain and update the corporate OHS Manual and ensure compliance while educating staff including management.

Provide guidance and support to management and employees on matters pertaining to rules interpretation and application

High school or equivalent with post-secondary education preferred

Must have above average knowledge of Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR), General Operating Instructions (GOI) and Safety Rules and Work Procedures

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel is an asset

Previous training experience an asset

Remote Control Locomotive System (RCLS) Qualified is an asset

Classroom preparation to suit training requirement for in-person learning or remote training.

Electrical and/or Avionics Systems knowledge and/or experience.

Administering course examinations in alignment with regulatory requirements.

Minimum of 10 years aviation maintenance experience.

Minimum of 3 years experience on aircraft of primary assigned program.

Excellent presentation & interpersonal skills.
