This may include providing assistance with patient care, such as taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing emotional support. They may also be responsible for administrative duties, such as scheduling appointments, filing paperwork, and ordering supplies. Job Skills Required Nursing Unit Assistants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They must be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks. They must also have a strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures. Job Qualifications Nursing Unit Assistants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must also have a valid certification from a recognized nursing assistant program.
