Mortgage Broker Underwriter Jobs

Organizational and time management skills

Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience required

Minimum 2 years previous mortgage underwriting experience required

Working knowledge of PC software in a Windows environment required

MUST have a minimum of 1-year experience with a mortgage lender/brokerage as a Mortgage Underwriter and/or Mortgage Officer

MUST have impeccable communication skills.

Experience working with loan origination software such as Filogix/Expert

Ability to prioritize incoming issues and manage a constantly evolving deal pipeline.

Prior experience working at a bank or mortgage lending company.

Prior experience workingwith financial software programs such as Filogix / Expert.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of AML/ATF/KYC procedures.

• 3+ years’ mortgage experience in the alternative mortgage market

• Knowledge of fraud risk in the mortgage industry

Preparing mortgage commitments, including appropriate mortgage conditions, within expected timelines.

Responding to mortgage broker inquiries in a timely manner and providing exceptional customer service to maintain strong broker relationships.

Organizing and/or participating in business development activities and events

You're highly organized with exceptional time management capabilities

Execute skilled and clear communication with borrowers to ensure their understanding of the mortgage process, expectations and documentation required

Utilize a hands-on approach and problem-solving skills to make prudent decisions on complex mortgage files

Work with Credit Manager on complex files where standard lending solutions have been exhausted and you need support

Develop proficiency in the functionality and features of products, services, tools, technology, and Salesforce CRM capabilities

You have 2 years of previous experience in the mortgage lending industry
