Comprehensive knowledge of issues in relevant service area including current trends, best practices and modalities of treatment.

Utilizes strong critical thinking skills when making decisions, resolving issues/conflict.

Demonstrated ability to manage and resolving conflict.

Demonstrated skills and ability to facilitate team building and to work both independently and collaboratively.

Two years' recent, related nursing experience relevant with the designated client population or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of nursing science theory, and practice within a client and family centred model of care.

Comprehensive knowledge of the BCCNM standards for Nursing Practice.

Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and standards of care.

Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.

Demonstrated ability to facilitate the development of critical thinking and clinical decision making skills in others.

Complete other required documentation (e.g. leave management, education requests, travel claims, expense claims) within the required time frames;

Provide health teaching about mental illness and symptom management.

Identify, promote resolution, and management of all emergency situations concerning individuals, staff, and property;

Ensure effective communication with manager, staff team, home staff or landlord and external treatment teams concerning individual’s progress;

Developing, initiating and coordinating individualized care plans for eligible clients, and providing ongoing resource management and discharge planning as appropriate;

Performing other duties as assigned.

The ability to work independently in a highly organized manner is required.

The ability to travel throughout Waterloo Region and Wellington County is required.

Fluency in French language preferred.

Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or Behavioural Sciences.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Evaluate the effectiveness of introduced mental health promotion programs and initiatives and make recommendations to the management team

Monitor and analyze program outcomes and impact and provide regular reports to the management team

Post-secondary education in Social Work, Mental Heath Services, or related area of study

Proven experience in mental health promotion, workplace wellness, or a related field

Knowledge and experience in community engagement, development and facilitation.

Demonstrated ability in change management and change processes, including conflict management.

Sound knowledge of participatory community-based planning, evaluation, outcome evaluation, policy development and analysis skills.

Demonstrated leadership skills with diverse populations and stakeholder groups.

Knowledge of mental health, community resources and other community service providers.

Broad knowledge of mental health and/or addiction legislation and treatment.

Broad knowledge of crisis intervention and counseling skills.

Health Care Management and/or Health Care Leadership Certification are an asset.

Graduate of an accredited post-secondary education in a health-related social sciences program (e.g.BSW, BScMH, BScPN, BN, RPN, MOT).

Certificate in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

Minimum of three (3) years acute mental health and/or supervised counselling experience in the last five (5) years.

Experience in completing psychosocial assessments and mental status examinations.
