Mechanical Pump Technician Jobs in Nova Scotia

Detail orientated, time management and organizational skills.

Liaison with Manufacturing Manager and Supervisor on completing time studies and analysis for products and applications being reviewed for the division.

College diploma in Mechanical Technologist or equivalent experience.

3+ years’ experience working within a manufacturing or industrial application environment.

Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, machining, and repairs.

Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or vocational technical training is preferred. Specialized skill training/certification is a plus.

2-3 years of experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical equipment.

Overtime and occasional weekend work for extra earnings.

• Experience with mechanical design, preferably with centrifugal pump design and pressure vessels

• Solid knowledge in hydraulics and mechanical engineering

• Knowledge of API, HI, ASME and ASTM standards

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work well with others

• Knowledge of ANSYS Fluent is an asset

• Experience in programming with Visual Basics or C++ is an asset

Utilizing knowledge and skill to recognize opportunities for improvement and savings.

Post-Secondary Trades certification with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a regulated environment.

Post-Secondary Education Diploma from a Mechanical or Electrical trade program.

Knowledge of Standard Operating/Work Procedures as part of the principles of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Installing of research and process equipment (electrical/mechanical /instrumentation/plumbing).

Relocating of equipment through assembly and dismantle procedures.

Manage the preventative maintenance program

Determine and manage spare parts required to support production equipment

Electrical problem-solving skills an asset

Previous mechanical assembly experience required

Machining, tool maker and/or millwright experience an asset

Participate in product concept and rapid prototyping activity and provide design for manufacturing feedback

Weening bros, EMI, belt conveyors, Intralox conveyors

Can seal, mold heater controls, thermolators

Standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and bending on concrete floor/equipment

Associates degree including courses in electromechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting. (Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education);

Knowledge of Safety Programs requirements also beneficial.

Depending on qualifications, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.

Must be qualified or able to qualify in, and to advance individual skills as assigned/required by team within defined deadlines;

Relevant oil and gas industry experience would be desired;

Industrial experience in a plant environment would be an asset;

Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to work independently to achieve project goals before deadline;

Perform/complete other additional projects, duties, and assignments as required and/or by management request.

Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel;

Diploma – Electro Mechanical Technician, or equivalent experience;

Previous experience with industrial mechanical and electrical, electronic and computer controls required to install and maintain modern industrial plant equipment;
