Mechanical Construction Design Manager Jobs

Manage medium size projects while helping other Sr. staff on their project

Maintain project documents and manage project draws and invoices

Support project manager and other departments and perform project documentation

Manage project change orders; from pricing to processing & planning the workflow, and assessing cost and schedule impact

Other Project Management duties as assigned

Multi-disciplined knowledge and experience in the design, construction of roadways, sidewalks, multi-use paths, stormwater infrastructure, retaining/noise walls and structures

Manages the selection and procurement process and assessment of new technologies and/or methodologies

Identifies and initiates new business requirements to improve current practices and better assess infrastructure needs

Knowledge and application of project management methodology, construction techniques and materials.

Professional designation such as OAA, P.Eng., PMP, ARIDO, or membership in Project Management Institute (PMI) is preferred.

Over 5 years’ experience managing professional staff, consultants, construction firms and general contractors and leading project teams

Exceptional communication skills both written and oral (English)

Strong administrative and budgetary skills involving building capital programs and operating budgets

Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) project software and AutoCAD

Keep all upper management team members aware of project status and prepare progress reports regularly.

Excellent time management with the ability to multitask smoothly.

Excellent written and verbal communication, oral presentation, and problem-solving skills including the ability to tactfully interact with a variety of individuals.

Must have strong organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, possess attention to detail, and should be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to adapt to different situations and personalities, while maintaining a degree of personal integrity, utilizing problem solving skills.

Manager of Design and Construction

Work continuously with Senior Management and Shop Team to innovate and streamline department practices

Knowledge/experience of Fabrication CADmep, Dynamo, Python, BIM360, BlueBeam, and Navisworks are all assets

Knowledge and/or experience with Total Station is an asset

Liaise with President, Project Managers and Site Foremen

Experience with Revit is a strong asset

Knowledge of VDC/BIM is required (most work done in Revit)
