Marine Engineer Officer Jobs

Participate and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

Demonstrate good stress management (medium to high);

Good knowledge of diesel engine mechanics;

Good knowledge of hydraulic systems;

Analytical skills for problem solving and troubleshooting;

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an integrated project team

Ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with all relevant procedures, rules, regulations, codes, standards, and specifications

Delivering rigging designs, hydrostatic stability analysis, motions, and mooring analysis

Specifying and technically evaluating the supply of Marine/ROV equipment, rigging, and vessels

Planning and executing scaled model testing and marine simulations

Participating in design and gate reviews as well as operational risk assessments

Participates in emergency drills in accordance with Transport Canada regulations, the Safety Management System.

Manage the replacement of any machinery and plumbing when required

Additional job duties as assigned

Knows and understands both the Operational and Emergency procedures laid out in the Safety Management System

Reports non-conformities to the Designated Person (Manager, Marine Operations)

Maintains any applicable licenses and certifications

Minimum four (4) years of relevant maintenance and repair experience

Minimum four (4) years of experience in the marine environment

Demonstrated knowledge of diesel engines, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

Participate in and support the activities of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System.

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience at sea as an engineer;

Good knowledge of diesel mechanics;

Good knowledge of hydraulic systems;

Analytical skills for problem-solving and troubleshooting;

1-2 years of security experience is an asset

Ensure safety and security of the Marine terminal and onboard vessels

Provide K9 Patrol/Protection support in accordance with established procedures

Provide K9 explosive or narcotic detection support

Regular patrols every 1-2 hours

Attend bi-weekly K9 maintenance training
