Junior Structural Designer Jobs

Participate in site reviews, respond to RFI’s, and supervise and manage ongoing projects and personnel

A minimum of 5 years of relevant design experience within Canada.

Consulting work experience in civil structural or port engineering an asset;

Proven experience in common engineering software such as AutoCAD and common structural analysis software;

Proven experience in structural engineering calculations and analyses;

Assist with preparation of technical documents (e.g. reports, drawings, specifications) documenting engineering and environmental investigations, results, and analyses;

Minimum 2 years of design industry experience

Prepare drawing packages, including floor plans, elevations, renderings and schedules

Prepare estimates and client proposals

Assist with presentation and concept board preparation

Building structural and building science consulting environment

· Previous management experience an asset.

· 5-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.

· Experienced using Bentley Microstation and/or Powerdraft & Autodesk AutoCAD.

· Design experience using Inventor. Other 3D design platforms will be considered.

· Experienced in monitoring and adhering to project budgets and timelines.

· Experienced at checking drawings is an asset.

5-10 years structural engineering experience

Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment

Experience in heavy industrial structures and their foundations

Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project

Good communication and interpersonal skills

What we are looking for in the ideal candidate;

·Graduate of the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology CAD Technician Program or Red River

Previous experience within a similar role is essential with a minimum 2-3 year’s industry experience

Experience in a creative role with a leading retail design agency or in-house design team

Proven experience at all stages of the design process, from conception through to implementation

Strong communication and presentation skills

Self-motivated and driven, with the ability to manage own workload to deadlines

High level proficiency AutoCAD with working knowledge of how to build dynamic blocks

Working knowledge and experience with MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.)

Review and adapt our designs based on changes to fabrication facility capabilities

Actively support continuous improvement and product improvement initiatives through interactions with local and remote team members

0-5 years experience in a similar role

Previous experience using 3D Modeling and drafting software to produce manufacturing drawings

C.E.T. certification or registration as an EIT would be an asset

0-2 years of interior design experience of varying project types

Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting

Work with other designers to generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction

Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school

Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3D, Rhino, Grasshopper, and other modeling software programs
