Intermediate Bridge Engineer Jobs

Management of Complex and Standard bridge projects;

Assist with leadership and expertise re: client management.

Minimum 5 years of experience working in an engineering capacity on detailed design assignments for bridges

Superior technical understanding, design abilities, and current on bridge technologies;

Working knowledge of structural analysis software used in bridge design such as CSIBridge, MIDAS, etc;

A thorough knowledge of current design codes (CAN/CSA-S6) and standards is essential;

Ability to lead and manage several large-scale bridge projects

Minimum 10+ years of relevant bridge design experience

A hybrid work in the office/work from home model.

Analysis and detailed design of new bridges, bridge rehabilitations and evaluations, culverts and retaining walls.

Participate in bridge and civil structure inspections

Supervision of bridge CAD technicians for production of drawings and project deliverables

Ability to lead and manage several large-scale bridge projects

Minimum 5 years of relevant bridge design experience

Previous experience as a Structural Engineer or similar field

Participate in bridge and civil structure inspections

5 -10 years of experience in the design of bridges and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Code or AASHTO;

Demonstrated experience in the area of bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm;

Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or MicroStation;

Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation of existing bridge; steel and concrete structures;

Demonstrated ability in meeting project deliverables and requirements;

Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity.

Ensure that all work is done in accordance with Kiewit and/or project-specific Quality Management plans;

Have the knowledge and ability to analyze and design according to codes, design criteria and structural theories;

Identify and understand the technical requirements of high-risk projects and implement engineering principles to develop solutions;

8 years or more of experience in relevant structural/bridge engineering design;

Excellent theoretical knowledge of structural engineering principles;

Experience with design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, wall systems and staged construction analysis;

12+ years of experience in design and engineering of bridge projects.

Experience and understanding of conventional delivery and alternative delivery methodology.

CN Rail, CP Rail, and MTO experience are considered an asset

Experience in managing/mentoring or leading a group is considered an asset

Successful participation in, and completion of multi-disciplined bridge projects, rail bridges, and complex design

Providing technical leadership and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff
