Instrumentation Mechanic Jobs

Works with area manager to resolve issues with design, manufacturability or drawings and build sequence.

Must possess construction and maintenance instrumentation experience.

Minimum 5 years of journeyperson experience.

Supervises the repairs and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation and control equipment and emission monitoring instrumentation.

Supervises field employees while working with crew.

Monitor and manage risks, develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budget are in jeopardy in collaboration with the CSS

Minimum of 5 years construction and subcontractor supervision experience

Experience in managing major refurbishment or complex Nuclear projects

Experience managing and working in a large joint venture

Cognitive abilities to be able to read blueprints and make decisions in high pressure/pace environment

Lead the General Foreman and Foremans executing on Shift

• Industrial facility construction and maintenance experience

• Previous experience managing large Industrial projects is preferred

• Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills

• Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications

• Previous estimating experience is an asset

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management.

A valid Instrumentation certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal certification

Experience in either a pulp mill or heavy industrial setting is preferred

Knowledge of computer software and applications, with a preference given to a candidate with Maximo, MS Excel, AutoCAD and Word.

Senior Instrumentation Monitor will be responsible for training and ensuring quality and consistency from the field Instrumentation monitors.

Demonstrated strong analytical abilities and organizational skills

Identifies user requirements/problems and recommends possible solutions

Maintains a current knowledge of new developments in technology, safety, quality, and regulations by attending conferences, seminars, and reviewing technical papers

Completion of recognized post secondary technologist diploma program in an appropriate electronics engineering technology, or equivalent education.

Certified or eligible for certification, at the technologist level, by the Applied Sciences Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.

Two (2) years directly related relevant experience.

Journeyman Instrument Technician certificate with industrial experience

Must have a strong knowledge in both in both instrumentation and electrical

Strong customer service skills, formal training would be considered an asset

Excellent contract administration skills including the ability to review and execute the project based on the specific contract specifications

Strong problem solving and organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in reading engineering drawings

Experience in troubleshooting equipment issues with electrical and instrumentation

Experience using a computer for record keeping and documentation

Ability to communicate effectively and constructively, as well as good verbal and written English skills.

Performs installation of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, analyzers, and control valves.

Performs mechanical work associated with instrument repair and modification while having the ability to remove and install small piping and tubing.

Rebuilds and calibrates transmitters and control valves, tune controllers.

Performs scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports.

Must be an Instrumentation Journeyperson
