Industrial Electrical Apprentice Jobs

Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of stamping and robotic equipment and PLC's

Willing to work at elevated heights and obtain aerial lift certification.

Install, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, machinery, and electrical systems.

Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.

Set up and operate machine tools to repair and fabricate machine parts, jigs, and fixtures.

Perform other duties as required.

Must possess construction and industrial electrical experience.

Must be local to the Calgary area

Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.

Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.

Fabricates, installs and/or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.

Must be a registered Electrical Apprentice

Rough in and finish wiring control systems

Must possess solar or wind turbineexperience.

Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.

Fabricates, installs and/or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrument troubleshooting and panel work.

Must be an Indentured Electrical Apprentice or a registered Journeyperson.

Must be reliable and dependable (i.e.: punctual and ready to work).

Participate in training programs to enhance your skills and knowledge in electrical installation and design.

Gain hands-on experience in different types of electrical systems, including residential, commercial, and industrial.

Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues under the guidance of experienced professionals.

Ability to work well in a team and take direction from experienced electricians.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

At least 3 years’ experience performing Power, Industrial, or Food & Beverage engineering related duties

Experience in field construction or startup and previous experience directing junior engineers is desirable Familiar with basic computer operation

Experience with ETAP, EZ-Power or similar electrical analysis software preferred

Experience with electrical equipment (Transformers, Switchgear, Cables, MCCs, Panelboards) sizing and specification preferred

Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to design medium to large industrial projects.

Formulate technical specifications and prepare interface points with construction partners.

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

Industrial or Commercial refrigeration experience is required.

Controls experience is an asset.

Previous experience with ammonia refrigerant would be an asset

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Be able to work on a team or independently from a mobile location.

Certificate of Qualification as a 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician (or equivalent) is required

Minimum of 3 years of trade experience (apprenticeship included)

Knowledge of Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and all other applicable legislation required

Experience in Class 1 Division 1

Good writing and verbal communication skills

Previous related work experience and/or training considered an asset.

Learn about new equipment on the job by reading manuals and through hands-on experience .

Check and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment.

Replace faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices.

Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications.
