Indigenous Wellness Worker Jobs

Minimum of five (5) years of offering cultural traditional practices, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ensure that employees are culturally safe by offering traditional culturally safe resources, communication, and understanding.

Liaises with a variety of Indigenous community based agencies to offer support.

Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Business Administration, or in a related field or related experience, with demonstrated work with Indigenous communities.

Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated ability to provide Indigenous culturally competent and sensitive care.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and provincial/national standards on health, safety and wellness.

Proficient oral and written communication skills; daily documentation is required.

Knowledge and practice of Cree culture or the willingness to learn and practice the Cree culture.

Participate in all training and workshops funded by this project

Be reflexive to community needs and requests for additional programming

Be present in community to form relationship with youth and community leadership

The successful candidate must be willing to work flexible hours (days and evenings) and travel to both communities regularly
