Create research knowledge translation products related to the project

Master’s degree in relevant field (education, public health social sciences, health sciences).

Demonstrated knowledge of issues related to marginalized youth, such as 2SLGBTQ+ youth health inequities.

Create and maintain research records including recruitment tracking documents.

Analysis of the online focus group discussion and interviews among 2SLGBTQ+ youth

Develop and grow accessible programming for Black youth, youth with disabilities, new immigrants etc through partnership with community organizations.

Develop and implement the Indigenous engagement strategy, development materials that reach education leaders and families across BC.

Responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Geering Up Outreach programs and services.

Develop, implement and evaluate administrative policies, procedures, and practices for the efficient operation and administration of Geering Up InSTEM Programs.

Develop staff training initiatives to ensure effective orientation, team building, ongoing development and retention of staff.

Maintain a positive, healthy, and safe work environment that encourages diversity and people engagement.

Well developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills

Experience in data collection and data entry is an asset

Completes Case Report Forms in conjunction with PI, Manager and/or Coordinator

Completed or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required

Two years’ research related experience preferred

Knowledge of hematological disorders is an asset

Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Applied research experience with human participants an asset

Experience with statistical analysis software an asset

Experience with REDCap an asset

Assists in the planning and implementation of a REDCap database

Assists with environmental scans to make connections with like organizations

To support the investigators in developing a data analysis plan.

Demonstrated experience with land management systems, GIS and GPS .

Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

Special Flight Operations Certificate for UAV operation or completion of certification within six months from date of hire.

Assist with technology transfer of research and development activities at formal and informal meetings and functions.

Pesticide Applicators License or completion of licensing within six months from date of hire.

Assists with writing and preparing protocol material (e.g. screening materials, consent forms, ethics applications, data collection forms, patient information sheets);

Previous experience with Government travel claims is an asset

Collating and filing historical records

Assisting with the preparation of Travel applications prior to travel

Assisting in producing travel claims post travel

Developing and processing research related travel documents and materials

Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) certification an asset

Well-developed organizational, time management and daily planning skills

Experience with data entry an asset

Completion of or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in a Health Science and/or Science related field required

Two years’ research related experience preferred

TCPS2: CORE Certification considered an asset

Bachelor’s degree education in administration, project management or health services/scientific field. A combination of experience and diploma may be considered.

Excellent time management skills and experience

Demonstrate a high level of time management and decision-making skills in setting priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external)

Verify the source documentation and complete electronic Case Report Forms (eCRF) data entry

2+ years of relevant experience within a university, hospital, or comparable environment in a research setting

Excellent oral and written communication skills;

Develop and oversee data protocols (e.g. data generation, qualitative data management, cleaning and analysis)

Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one’s own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Develop written review of literature as needed to support specific aspects of the study.

Organize and maintain oversight of UBC ethics approval processes

Design and modify complex research approaches and provide input into developing data collection tools

Conduct complex analysis and interpretation of data

A minimum bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, or Animal Sciences with an emphasis in Entomology or pest management.

Preparing insects/mites culture with different carrier materials and knowledge of feeding them

Data entry using Excel and other ERP software

A minimum of two years in laboratory settings related experience would be an asset.

Our team is looking for a skilled and motivated entomologist as a research assistant.

Ability to recognize/willingness to learn about new insect/mites species.
