Documents assessments, nursing diagnosis, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.

Acts as a preceptor or mentor to assigned new nursing staff and students; shares information, demonstrates care activities, participates in orientation.

Demonstrates accurate assessment skills, appropriate to the age of the patient, based on scientific facts and principles

At least 2-years of recent experience as a Licensed RN in a hospital or acute setting

Assesses, utilizing age specific data, the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status in a comprehensive manner

Performs initial assessment and completes required documentation within organizational standards

Performs and documents ongoing assessments including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention

Assists other staff in the delivery of patient care, as appropriate

Demonstrates accurate assessment skills, appropriate to the age of the patient, based on scientific facts and principles

Previous ICU experience is preferred

Current BCLS certification is required

Excellent English reading, writing, speaking, comprehension and clinical skills

Proficient computer and documentation skills

Knowledge of universal precautions and medical terminology an asset

Current certification in Basic Life Support, Basic Rescue Level C, or Heartsaver Plus issued by SJHC.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and communicates fluently and effectively in the English language, both verbal and written skills.

Computer skills or willingness to obtain competency in computer skills.

Previous ICU experience is an asset.

Ability to set priorities and work with minimum supervision.

Ability to provide portering and transportation services for patients and supplies.
