Human Machine Interface Designer Jobs

Knowledge of front-end development (HTML/CSS), how it impacts design, and the skills to provide practical feedback to Development teams

This position is fully remote however there may be requirements and opportunities for travel from time to time.

Experience: At least 3 years of professional experience in UI design, ideally with a focus on mobile games or applications.

Skills, Abilities and Other Attributes

Developing design concepts: Creating design concepts and prototypes based on user requirements using Figma.

Gathering and analyzing user requirements: Working with stakeholders to understand user needs and translating them into design requirements.

5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, visual design, graphic design, or experience in a related field.

Compelling portfolio of work demonstrating experience in UI/UX or visual design.

Proficient knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other design tools.

Ensure that the plans meet the guidelines, the requirement of building codes and other regulations.

Assist the design project manager when help is needed.

· At least Two (2) to five (5) year experience.

· Experience with civil and E design/construction work is preferable

· Experience with rail/track projects is preferable

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Online portfolio demonstrating relevant skills.

Working knowledge of Figma is a bonus.

Great graphic design skills working with layout, typography, and iconography.

Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, or other game engines.

Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin/Candu Energy procedures and QA programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Co-ordinate HF work scope for major projects including definition of work scope, communicating client requirements, monitoring and reporting progress.

Manage assigned work effectively, including prioritizing, executing, managing schedule and budget, and reporting, to meet project goals.

Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

A passion for finance and a desire to understand the needs and challenges of investment professionals and businesses.

Contribute to the product management team and help define the product roadmap

Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or a related field. (It doesn’t matter if you can design)

UX knowledge: Understanding user-centred design principles, best practices, and research methods, such as usability testing and user interviews.

Visual design skills: Mastery of typography, colour theory, layout, responsive design, and mobile-first design principles.

Knowledge of the Canadian nonprofit sector and issues related to food insecurity is a plus.
