Experience in institutional cleaning, including use of commercial cleaning equipment is preferred.

Experience in a commercial laundry or dry-cleaning operation.

At least one year of prior experience in a long term care centre or acute hospital laundry setting is preferred.

Work or volunteer experience with Seniors in a Long Term Care or Retirement Community Setting is preferred.

Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:

To order and safe keep drugs and narcotics and administer in compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies and procedures;

Performs meal service as required relating to beverage and meal service, plating of food, clearing and cleaning of dining rooms etc.

Assists residents with menu selection as required and serves food and beverages to residents in designated areas

Responsible for the setting, clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing of resident dining and service areas

Collects and strips trays for dish washing

Conveys residents’ complaints to Dietary Supervisor

Adhering to legislative requirements (e.g., WHMIS)

Vacuuming, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, rearranging furniture

Daily cleaning and disinfecting all resident areas

Using appropriate levels of supplies

Heavy cleaning (windows and walls)

Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements

Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partners

Superior oral and written communication skills

Professionally clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, including bathroom facilities

Knowledgeable regarding the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
