Previous experience as a Home Support Worker, Personal Support Worker, or in a related role is preferred.

First Aid and CPR certification is a plus.

Three years demonstrated experience providing support services within community healthcare

Experience working with elderly or ill individuals and/or children

Strong verbal and written communication skills in a manner that demonstrates respect, empathy and understanding to clients, families and colleagues

Provides respite care to clients as required

Functions and reports in accordance with VON's policies, procedures, practices and guidelines designed to promote and protect client safety
