Demonstrated knowledge of information privacy issues including related and relevant legislation/statutes in information privacy, access and protection of personal information.

Demonstrated skill and proficiency in electronic communication technology.

Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of information privacy goals, objectives, policies and procedures for the department.

Advises communication strategy for the department, and prepares communication material such as Department Newsletters.

Participates on assigned internal and external committees, as required.

Ability to analyze privacy best practices and to document them in policy/processes.

Liaise with interdisciplinary team and care providers to develop, implement, review and evaluate resident complex care plans including education and support.

Current registration with provincial College of Nurses as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Officer, Health and Safety.

-1 to 3 years of relevant functional experience or relevant H&S experience

-One or more years of experience in a unionized environment an asset

-Proficient computer skills and competent with Microsoft Office programs

-Enrollment in Safety designation and or certifications programs may be an asset

-Strong communication, analytical, and physical abilities to climb stairs on a regular basis

Ensuring Workers’ Compensation claims are captured in incident management database and provide support to management and employees as needed;

Providing reports to Management/Senior Management/Human Resources on OH&S issues;

Must have a demonstrated skills and abilities in leadership including the ability to influence, communication, group facilitation, training, presentation, and organization.

Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.

Experience and knowledgeable working under Ontario H&S Legislation, codes, practices, standards.

Communicates Wood H&S requirements to subcontractors and ensures their compliance.

Provides and maintains stock of personal protective equipment as required by Wood requirements.

3+ years of Occupational Health and Safety experience, preferably within the Ontario construction industry and large-scale Projects.

Experience working on engineered construction, civil works, geotechnical, demolition, environmental remediation and/or nuclear construction projects.
