Detailed Job Description A Gateway Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network gateways and other related equipment. They must be able to configure, test, and troubleshoot network gateways, routers, switches, and other related equipment. They must be able to install and configure network security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual private networks. They must be able to diagnose and resolve network problems, and provide technical support to users. They must be able to monitor network performance and security, and make recommendations for improvements. Job Skills Required
• Knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP, UDP, and ICMP
• Knowledge of network security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual private networks
