Food Safety Quality And Regulatory Superintendent Jobs

Key Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Manage, maintain, and execute the Food Safety Management Systems of the NFGA and NCC and their related SOPs

Report to the organizations’ top management on the effectiveness and suitability of the food safety management system.

Experience in certification of quality control and food safety programs is a strong advantage.

Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritize and delegate where required.

Support growers in their on-farm food safety programs, including CanadaGAP certification

Strong experience with HACCP, GMPs, animal care practices, regulatory submissions, SFCR documentation, and other relevant management systems.

Experience with crisis management, recall processes, ethical sourcing audits, regulatory inspections, and SFCR assessments.

Provide guidance, training, and performance management to ensure team members are equipped to meet their objectives.

Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., BRC/GFSI), animal welfare certifications, CFIA regulations, SFCR requirements, and customer-specific mandates.

Ensure alignment with industry best practices, evolving regulatory requirements, SFCR, and animal welfare standards.

In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality standards, animal welfare principles, ethical sourcing practices, CFIA regulations, and the SFCR.

The Water Quality Superintendent will use their strong team building and leadership skills and successfully and safely achieve performance targets.

Candidates with the required experience but without an engineering degree will be considered.

Excellent interpersonal skills required, including an ability to work collaboratively within a fast paced and structured environment

Good communication skills with excellent strategic thinking skills

Proficient analytical skills required as well as a strong background in MS Office, Outlook and SAP.

Experience in direct management of a lab.

Experience with lab management standards (i.e., ISO17025)

Administer and maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Manage the schedule for the daily and annual sampling and testing of products.

Manage calibration and verification programs, maintenance programs, and service agreements for all test equipment.

Manage the collection and storage of samples.

Minimum 3 years’ experience with releasing drug/NHP product to the Canadian Market is preferred.

Thorough and demonstrated knowledge of ICH Guideline, FDA-CFR regulations, and other relevant policies.

Sound problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills
