Engineering Supervisor – West Jobs in Nova Scotia

Knowledge of project management including cost control, scheduling, codes, standards, specifications, corporate policies and procedures and applicable environmental legislation.

Supervise the project team engaged in all aspects of the project management cycle.

Integrate corporate requirements, commitments and initiatives into projects, including design requirements, environmental assessment conditions, Railway requirements, municipal commitments.

Identify and acts on issues and risks.; collaborates with Manager and other team members to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Understands theories, principles and practices of civil and architectural design and construction, skills and proficiency in broad phases of engineering application.

Project Management and/or System engineering experience.

Above average Microsoft Windows application experience, communications and interpersonal skills are required for this position.

Minimum of 5 years maritime experience in Ship Repair, Ship Building or Ship Operational Experience.

Previous experience working with a defense contract.

Provide direction on way forward during Corrective Maintenance.

Conduct technical investigation into problems associated with equipment or system malfunction, including failure analysis and solution development.

Support the Service Delivery team as required with the management of Service Providers conducting work on board the ship.

Canadian Red Seal (Mechanical, Millwright or Power Engineering) or Military QL5 certification in marine Engineering or equivalent.

Possess a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated technical professional work experience in the marine/offshore sector within the last 10 years.

Strong working knowledge in the maintenance, operation, design and/or troubleshooting of a wide range of marine systems.

Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
