Supervise students, as required, and deals with behaviour concerns with positive behaviour management as they occur

Experience in before and after school programs preferred.

Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, community resources and early learning.

You have a minimum of five years (full-time equivalent) of recent and related occupational experience in early childhood education.

Ideally, you have related experience in delivery of educational programs or training to adults.

You have knowledge and experience in applying WHMIS, Occupational Health and Safety and occupation-specific safety practices.

You are known for your superior interpersonal skills and can manage interpersonal relationships and issues effectively

Provide theoretical and practical instruction in the asynchronous full-time accelerated Early Childhood Education diploma program.

Experience teaching online asynchronous classes in an adult learning environment would be considered an asset.

Working knowledge of ELECT, High Scope curriculum and program planning based on an inclusion model respectful of all children’s abilities

Observe children’s strengths, areas of challenge, emerging skills and interests. Collaborate with the team to implement inclusive program plans.

Work with the team to effectively manage children’s medication schedule and allergies

Good written and verbal communication skills and excellent listening skills

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective work partnerships with parents/families, colleagues and service providers of diverse backgrounds, abilities and identities

Current Standard First Aid certification and appropriate medical and immunization record

Responsible for the daily care, supervision, diapering and toileting routines

Registered Early Childhood Educator or Equivalent

Completion of Grade 12, and currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education Certificate program or completing work experience required for licensing;

At least 6 months of previous experience working with children in a group childcare setting;

Previous multicultural or cross-cultural experience;

Assist senior staff in monitoring children in indoor and outdoor activities and during rest periods;

Under supervision of senior staff, conduct activities with children such as telling stories, teaching songs and leading discussions;

Assist with the planning, preparation and carrying out developmentally appropriate programs and activities;

Minimum 2 years experience in a licensed child care setting;

Working knowledge of children and early years programs;

Must have knowledge of MS Office software including Excel and Word.

Implements curriculum to meet the needs, interests and talents of all children;

Participates in all activities with the children;

Supports the supervision of students and volunteers as required;

Assist with the planning and coordination of other employment preparation skill building certificate trainings

Provide career information and assist students with identifying their skills and strengths into a portfolio
