Database Test Engineer Jobs

Migration of database objects from development through production following documented standards, policies, and procedures (Change Management Process)

On prem and cloud database migration and management expertise on either Azure or Aws.

Please note this role can be remote based (Halifax/Toronto area)***

2+ years of SQL Server database administration experience handling medium to large database.

2+ years of experience and support with Cloud technologies and database workload

Manage medium to large projects and participate in a variety of projects through the entire project lifecycle (if applicable)

3+ years of professional experience as a Database Engineer or equivalent

ETL experience and experience with SSRS/SSIS

100% Database engineering and administration

Hands on experience with query engine internals, transactional storage engines and indexing techniques.

Excellent programming skills in C, C++ or Rust is a must. Familiarity with other languages is an asset.

Experience with data integration from various sources in data lakes.

Work with a small team of highly motivated engineers and researchers.

Participate the design and implementation of analytical database engines.

Validate, evaluate and troubleshoot system designs issues.

7-10 years relevant engineering experience, including experience with the following required:

Experience with Java/JMS, .NET, C/C++, REST

Scripting experience in JIL, Shell, Salt

Salesforce experience is a plus

What experience will you need?

Understanding of Databases (e.g. Oracle, Azure SQL)

Exceptional abilities and knowledge of relational databases – SQL Server knowledge a plus

Experience supporting Azure or other cloud-based solutions.

Microsoft certifications in data platform or Azure technologies

Expert level understanding of Azure Data factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL Services

Experience working remotely with a fully distributed team, with the communication and adaptability it requires.

Prior hands-on experience in MongoDB database installation, deployment and upgrade procedures

Data modeling, performance tuning and experience in writing efficient SQL.

Scripting knowledge – proficiency with Python, Go, Java, JS or similar languages

Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills

Experience mentoring and training junior team members

A minimum of 3 years’ SQL and TSQL programming experience

Intermediate HTML and JavaScript skills

1 Years of experience with AWS RDS or other cloud database offerings

Excellent Infrastructure skills and a grasp of fundamental computing concepts such as system calls, memory management and program debugging.

Experience in creating automation tools for managing relational databases (auditing, account management, backup/restore, discovery, schema deployment).

Knowledge of all supporting infrastructure components, including operating systems, hardware/storage configurations and networks.

Ownership of SQL Server clusters, working on a variety of development and maintenance projects in coordination with project and support teams.

Basic understanding of query optimization and index management

Implement and maintain database code in the form of stored procedures, scripts, queries, views, triggers, etc. based on project requirements

2+ years of experience on database development and administration

Excellent verbal, written, and collaborative skills to facilitate cross-functional teams.

Bachelor's Degree in computer science or relevant field with equivalent experience.

Financial industry work experience is a plus

Strong understanding of data management principles and practices ( Preferred experience: AWS Redshift )

Experience with Tableau server administration, including user management and permissions

One to three years of experience in AWS Redshift and SQL Support jobs

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience with SQL, DBT, RDBMS, and database technologies such as Redshift, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.

Experience with data ingestion and orchestration tools such as AWS Glue

Participates in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements.

Develops an understanding of the client’s business and technology requirements.

At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.

6+ years of experience as a consultant and/or programmer analyst with background/experience in and understanding of lending and leasing operations.

Experience with WebLogic 10.3 and higher

Experience with GitHub, GIT, Docker, CI/CD, and Azure DevOps
