Controls Systems Software Designer Jobs

Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, lubrication, and pneumatics design

Work with Senior Software Developer’s to create PLC, HMI, and smart device programs

Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical design of welding lines

Extensive knowledge of PLC and Robotic programming and control

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley/Rockwell software and communication

Advanced knowledge of Ethernet IP, DeviceNet and other communication protocols

Excellent knowledge of resistance welding, electrical standards and latest safety standards

Minimum one (1) year of experience in Electrical Design and troubleshooting;

Experience in control system and electrical panel design using AutoCAD Electrical or ePlan platforms;

Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron) and HMI programming;

Experience working in the food, manufacturing, agriculture, pulp and paper, or forestry/lumber industries will be considered an asset.

Professional Development and Education Support

Firsthand experience in multiple fields of design, applications, project management, controls, robotics, or customer machinery

Demonstrated writing skills for preparing technical requirements and functional requirements documentation and defining project scope

Experience in system design, development and qualification of robotic automation solutions is an asset

Strength with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, and working knowledge with SolidWorks

Review and assessment of functional requirements of concepts provided by the applications/sales group

Creation and contributing to Supplier Statement of Work requirements

In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts

Knowledge of C# (.Net Core) / Flutter

Knowledge of REST API development

Knowledge of Git/Gitlab, Docker Containers, Virtualization, DevOps practices and datacom/transport protocols will be considered an asset

0-5 years of experience in software development.

Contribute to the development of high quality functionality that allow Controls to be used as a building block for on-vehicle capabilities

Positively impact product quality, customer experience, and maintainability, and take on projects that improve team processes and solutions

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Control Eng, Mech Eng, Aerospace, Robotics, Mechatronics) may be acceptable with appropriate experience

Hands-on experience with optimisation-based controllers (MPC, LQR)

Knowledge of adaptive control / system identification

Experience with modelling of dynamic systems (vehicle modelling)

Promote and enforce company standards relating to project administration, documentation and processes such as total quality management.

Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, fidelity levels, and schedules and ensure the design and build will meet the targets.

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Extensive experience in mockup and prototype design.

Extensive experience with fabrication techniques and rapid prototyping processes.

Create and manage accurate documentation package for each project

Proven experience with PLC programming and Electrical controls design

Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems or equivalent

Knowledge of Motion Control Systems, preferably Powerflex VFD Drives

Robot Programming and vision system experience is a plus

Strong programming, electrical and mechanical problem-solving skills
