Controls System Software Designer Jobs

Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, lubrication, and pneumatics design

Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical design of welding lines

Extensive knowledge of PLC and Robotic programming and control

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley/Rockwell software and communication

Advanced knowledge of Ethernet IP, DeviceNet and other communication protocols

Excellent knowledge of resistance welding, electrical standards and latest safety standards

Minimum one (1) year of experience in Electrical Design and troubleshooting;

Experience in control system and electrical panel design using AutoCAD Electrical or ePlan platforms;

Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron) and HMI programming;

Experience working in the food, manufacturing, agriculture, pulp and paper, or forestry/lumber industries will be considered an asset.

Knowledge of C# (.Net Core) / Flutter

Experience with modelling of dynamic systems (vehicle modelling)

Hands-on experience with C++ algorithm development and deployment

- 5+ years of relevant experience in the field (robotics, PLC, etc)

- Strong ground up PLC programming experience

- Previous experience at Allan Bradley/Rockwell automation or Siemens

- Strong written and oral communication with a self starter attitude

- Flexible - overtime and weekend work occasionally required

- Post secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering

Experience in leading in hardware design projects and management of components lifecycle.

University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)

3+ years of related experience

Experience with Integrated Circuits specifications and hardware design.

Experience with digital and analog telecommunication protocols (ISDN, FXS/FXO, CAS, SS7, SIP).

Create and manage accurate documentation package for each project

Proven experience with PLC programming and Electrical controls design

Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems or equivalent

Knowledge of Motion Control Systems, preferably Powerflex VFD Drives

Robot Programming and vision system experience is a plus

Strong programming, electrical and mechanical problem-solving skills

Demonstrate good technical skills and problem-solving capabilities, and be able to seek practical solutions to engineering problems.

Prepare requirements and preliminary designs for digital equipment systems such as the plant-wide communications network.

Prepare requirements and develop tools for test/development systems as needed for the production of safety critical software.

Execute software engineering tasks including software requirements specification, software design descriptions, coding, verification, testing, and documentation.

Assist in preparation of work-scopes, design and quality requirements, and design plans for the various stages of computer systems development.

Update and/or prepare Computers Engineering design documents including software requirements specifications, software design descriptions, and software manuals.

•Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic/experience requirements.

•Minimum 5 years CATV or Telecom industry experience, preferably in Construction and/or Planning.

•Working knowledge of CSA standards, municipal by-laws, regulatory and utility standards.

•Excellent written and communication skills.

•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Oracle, AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat
