Job Description

Desired Skills and Experience*

- 5+ years of relevant experience in the field (robotics, PLC, etc)

- Strong ground up PLC programming experience

- Strong written and oral communication with a self starter attitude

- Flexible - overtime and weekend work occasionally required

- Post secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering

Plusses

- PC programming

- Previous experience at Allan Bradley/Rockwell automation or Siemens

Day-to-Day*

Insight Global is looking for a Controls System PLC Programmer to join a leading automation company. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing automation solutions in a 3 phase process. Phase 1 involves designing and developing PLC software programs to fit the specific requirements of their client. In phase 2, the candidate will be responsible for integrating their designs into the machines on the shop floor and perform all testing/debugging to ensure the program runs accordingly. The final phase requires tearing down the machine to be shipped to the customer site, and traveling to the desired location for reconstruction. The successful candidate will be required to come into the Cambridge location 5 days per week.
