Overview Community Service Workers are professionals who provide a variety of services to individuals, families, and communities. They work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, social service agencies, and community centers. They help people in need by providing resources, support, and guidance. They also work to promote social justice and advocate for the rights of vulnerable populations. Detailed Job Description Community Service Workers are responsible for providing a variety of services to individuals, families, and communities. They assess the needs of their clients and develop plans to meet those needs. They provide resources, support, and guidance to help their clients reach their goals. They also work to promote social justice and advocate for the rights of vulnerable populations. They may provide direct services, such as counseling, case management, and crisis intervention. They may also provide indirect services, such as referrals to other agencies, community outreach, and public education. Job Skills Required• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of social services and community resources
• Ability to assess client needs and develop plans to meet those needs
• Ability to work with diverse populations
• Knowledge of social justice and advocacy
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field (preferred)
• Licensure or certification in social work or a related field (preferred)
• Experience working with vulnerable populations
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
• Knowledge of community resources
