Community Disability Services Worker Jobs in Manitoba

Degree in a discipline related to vocational rehabilitation/rehabilitation counseling or experience in disability management as a licensed health care provider

Five to seven years’ experience in the insurance rehabilitation or the field of disability management

Proven leadership skills (relationship building, adaptability, decision making, conflict management, delegation, critical thinking)

Provide active leadership, coaching and performance management to the Rehabilitation Referral Consultants and Gainful Employment Specialists

Act as a technical expert to the team on disability management issues

Communicate to the Rehabilitation Referral Consultants regarding new initiatives affecting the Disability Intervention Services and Disability Management Service organizations.

Program delivery, including assessment, referral and case management

Other responsibilities including office administration, team leadership, community liaison, and departmental support

Must possess excellent spoken and written communication skills, where the ability to speak Inuktitut or Inuinnaqtun would be considered an asset

Demonstrated abilities to work independently, handle stressful or volatile situations, and seek appropriate supports

Supportive services, including providing relevant information, crisis intervention, and counselling

Delivering social services to the aged and handicapped, including counselling, and referrals for financial and other supportive resources
