As required, reserves/books meeting rooms for general meetings or educational purposes. Ensures audio/visual equipment is available and functioning.

Obtains patient records as required; inputs data into Meditech; prepares, maintains and researches patient files and data.

Completes patient registration documentation, entering data into the computer system.

Types technical and non-technical material such as correspondence, reports, etc. for physicians and interdisciplinary staff.

Opens, dates and distributes mail. Establishes and maintains filing for the entire service.

Composes correspondence such as form letters as directed; drafts correspondence for review and signature.

Be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the cardiovascular waitlist management system.

Demonstrated ability to think laterally, solve problems, make decisions and take action in a crisis management environment.

Provide education and support for patients/families during the waiting period and conducts follow-up of patients post procedures.

Provides supervision to cardiac waitlist clerks and surgery and cardiology booking clerks.

Comprehensive knowledge of health care delivery systems.

Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, mediation and negotiation.

Participates on nursing committees, care conferences and councils as assigned or as agreed to with the Manager.

Documents assessments, nursing diagnosis, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.

Acts as a preceptor or mentor to assigned new nursing staff and students; shares information, demonstrates care activities, participates in orientation.

Performs other related duties as required.

Clinical proficiency in the designated clinical area.

Ability to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively.
