Analyst – Energy Market Operations Jobs

Assist in preparing responses to Statement of Qualifications (SOQ’s), Request for Proposals (RFP’s) for new tenders/bids/opportunities

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or in a related field of study

Knowledge of North American RTO/ISO markets and their planning practices

Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Knowledge of Eastern and/or Western grid interconnection and corresponding planning practices including resource integration studies

Exceptional decision-making and strategic thinking skills to manage complex energy systems while providing quality service to major customers.

Manage existing contractor agreements and develop relationships with new contractors and subject matter experts (SMEs).

Regularly attend sites to manage system performance and in the case of emergency responses.

Knowledge of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems is critical to success in the role.

Excellent organization and prioritization skills to follow maintenance schedules, address risks, and respond to emergencies or changes in scheduling appropriately.

Great communication and interpersonal skills to strengthen connections in the workplace to foster an inclusive environment through collaboration.

Some experience with inventory management, product or visual merchandising, stocking, or planning and logistics including using business technology to accomplish work

Engage team members in inventory management by creating a fun and productive atmosphere for the shift.

Proactively plan, prioritize, manage, and lead inventory processing and accuracy activities in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

1 year of work experience

Some experience in leading, mentoring, delegating or process implementation with others

Education: High school diploma/GED/equivalent, or above

Min 5-7+ years’ experience in consulting, project management, or a similar field (Retail or Consumer Products preferred).

Proven experience in project management with multiple functions and business partners

Functional expertise in Supply Chain Management (e.g. Logistics, Fulfillment, Sourcing, SC Strategy, etc…)

Collaborate cross-functionally to identify opportunities for improving product, market and channel launch process and planning for future capabilities.

Strong business, leadership, planning and organizing skills.

Experience with new product, market or channel launches strongly preferred.

Energy markets experience or an interest in energy management and promoting sustainability in the workplace.

Strong organization and time-management skills

Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to business partners and senior management through Power BI

Identify areas where data can be used to improve business processes and provide recommendations to management

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.

Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Outlook)

Consulting experience, including project management, client exposure and staff oversight responsibilities.

Minimum of 1 to 2 years of work experience in energy market forecasting and analysis

1+ years of experience with nodal electricity market and powerflow tools (e.g., PROMOD, PSLF, PSSE, UPLAN, POWERGEM)

Strong analytical aptitude, experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access)

1 to 2 years + of work experience in energy market forecasting and analysis

Strong oral and written communication skills
